Granny is the original stealth horror escape that popularized this entire genre of hide-and-sneak house games. You wake up locked inside a decrepit house with a single, deceptively simple goal: get out before the elderly, terrifyingly perceptive Granny catches you. Every step you take generates noise, and Granny's hearing is sharp enough that running carelessly through the house is often what actually gets you caught, not bad luck. Progress comes from quietly searching drawers and hidden spaces for keys and tools, then using those tools to unlock new areas or bypass traps like bear traps and creaky floorboards scattered throughout the house. When Granny gets close, diving under a bed or into a wardrobe can save you — but only if you time it before she's already looking your way. Limited, precious items force real trade-off decisions, and staying calm under pressure consistently matters more than any specific item you're carrying.
Use WASD or the arrow keys to move, holding Shift sparingly to sprint only when Granny is far enough away that the extra noise won't matter. Press the interact key to open drawers, pick up items, and use keys on locked doors. Crouching or moving slowly reduces the sound you make, which is almost always more valuable than the speed a full sprint gives you.
If Granny's tense stealth hooks you, try the atmospheric follow-up house in Granny Creepy House or the fast-paced spin of Creepy Granny Scream. Discover more horror games on our all games page.
