DTA 6 puts you in an open city viewed from a top-down angle, free to rip through traffic, hijack vehicles, and complete bite-size missions while a rising police heat meter tracks how much chaos you've caused. Weapons and cars can be swapped on the fly, and the physics lean firmly arcade rather than realistic, so confident driving and quick route improvisation matter more than careful precision. Sessions are built for short, replayable crime sprees rather than long structured campaigns.
Use WASD or the arrow keys to drive vehicles and move on foot, and click to shoot or interact with objects and NPCs. Press the interact key near a parked car to hijack it instantly, swapping vehicles whenever you need a faster escape or a better fit for the mission at hand. Watch your police heat meter and change routes or vehicles when it climbs too high.
If DTA 6's top-down chaos hooks you, continue the series with DTA 9 for more open-world crime sandbox action. Discover more action games on our all games page.
