Blumgi Ball reimagines physics basketball with a mechanic that instantly sets it apart: once the ball is in the air, you can teleport directly into it, taking control mid-flight to redirect its arc toward the hoop. This turns every shot into a two-part puzzle — first lining up a reasonable initial throw, then deciding when and how to blink into the ball to correct its trajectory, curve it around a hazard, or slam it home from an angle that would be impossible with a normal shot. Levels introduce hazards and obstacles that block straightforward shots, along with bonus star goals that reward creative, unconventional solutions rather than just reaching the hoop by the easiest path. Failing a shot costs nothing but a quick retry, which encourages experimenting with riskier, more creative teleport timing instead of playing it safe.
Lining Up Shots and Redirecting Mid-Air
Use the mouse to aim and set the power of your initial throw, releasing to launch the ball into the air. Once it's in flight, press the teleport key (commonly Space or a mouse click) to instantly blink into the ball's position, taking over its momentum and letting you redirect it — useful for curving around obstacles, correcting a bad initial angle, or slamming it downward for a dunk from a spot the original throw could never reach. The objective in each level is to get the ball into the hoop, ideally collecting any bonus stars along the way, using a combination of your initial aim and well-timed teleports to route around hazards.
Landing Trickier and Trickier Shots
- Don't aim for perfection on the first throw. Since you can redirect mid-flight, a rough initial arc is often good enough to set up a teleport correction.
- Time your teleport at the peak of the arc. Redirecting near the top of the ball's flight gives you the most control over its new trajectory.
- Scout hazards before throwing. Knowing where obstacles are lets you plan which direction to redirect the ball in advance.
- Experiment for star goals. Bonus stars often require an unconventional teleport timing that isn't obvious on your first attempt.
- Retry immediately after a miss. Since failing costs nothing, using misses to test new redirect timings is the fastest way to learn a level.
