Bloxorz turns a simple rectangular block into the basis for a genuinely clever spatial puzzle. Instead of moving a single square, you're tipping a 2×1 block end over end across a narrow, elevated course, and the block's shape matters constantly — it can rest flat and stable, stand upright and precarious, or teeter over gaps depending on how you've rotated it. Switches scattered through each level toggle bridges and platforms, trapdoors punish careless or overly hasty routes, and certain tiles only support the block's weight when it's lying flat rather than standing on end. The puzzle only truly "solves" when the block ends the level standing upright and drops cleanly into the goal hole, which means route planning has to account for the block's orientation at every single step, not just its position.
Use the arrow keys to tip the block in each of the four directions, rotating it end over end across the platform. Pay close attention to how the block is oriented before each move — flat and lying down covers more tiles and feels more stable, while standing upright takes up a single tile but is required to fall into the goal hole. Some levels include switches that need to be triggered (often by standing the block upright on a specific tile) to open bridges or paths elsewhere on the map, requiring you to plan a route that visits switches in the correct order before reaching the goal. The objective in every level is simply to guide the block to the goal and have it land upright, without ever rolling off the edge of the platform or through a trapdoor.
Bloxorz has remained a favorite spatial puzzle for years because its core mechanic is simple to grasp but genuinely difficult to master across its later levels. If you enjoy this kind of careful, planning-focused puzzle, Blockins offers a similar spatial challenge with a shape-fitting twist, while Brain Puzzle provides more variety in mechanical puzzle-solving. It's browser-based with no download required, so working through the next tricky level takes just a click. Discover more puzzle and logic games in the full games library on Machita 66.
